Heptane (C7H16) Detectors
We supply fixed heptane gas detectors designed for continuous monitoring in industrial facilities, storage areas, and laboratories. These detectors employ infrared (IR) or catalytic bead sensors to provide accurate detection of vapour concentrations across explosive ranges, with rapid response times for early warning. Routine calibration ensures consistent performance and compliance with workplace safety standards.
Our heptane detection systems from Crowcon are built for industrial reliability, precise monitoring, and seamless integration into plant-wide safety infrastructures.
Protect your staff and minimise fire hazards with our fixed heptane detection systems, designed for chemical, coatings, and fuel-related industries.
Heptane (C₇H₁₆) is a flammable hydrocarbon commonly used in solvents, adhesives, coatings, and as a reference fuel in engine testing. While valuable in industrial and laboratory applications, heptane vapours are a significant safety concern. It is highly flammable, forming explosive mixtures with air, and vapour accumulation in confined spaces can lead to severe fire or explosion hazards. Short-term exposure may also cause irritation, dizziness, or central nervous system effects.
