Description

Senko MGT Pump multi-gas detector combines powerful pumped sampling, broad gas coverage and intrinsically safe, IP67 protection for demanding industrial sites.

The Senko MGT Pump is a sampling-type multi-gas detector with an integrated pump for active, remote gas sampling in confined spaces and hard-to-reach areas. It supports simultaneous monitoring of up to six gases using multiple sensor technologies, covering oxygen, toxic and flammable hazards in a single portable instrument. Real-time readings, configurable multi-level alarms and rugged, intrinsically safe construction help industrial teams manage risk in tanks, sewers, tunnels and process areas while supporting compliance and incident prevention across complex sites.

AT A GLANCE

  • Pumped multi-gas monitoring: Built-in pump enables long-distance, active sampling with up to six gases measured simultaneously.
  • Flexible platform: Supports numerous sensor and gas combinations, from core four-gas to advanced configurations including VOCs.
  • Rugged personal protection: Lightweight, IP67, intrinsically safe design with robust housing for harsh industrial and confined space work.
  • Operational efficiency: Long-life rechargeable battery, event and data logging, and docking station compatibility streamline daily checks and maintenance.

Overview of Senko MGT Pump

Powerful pumped multi-gas protection in one instrument

The Senko MGT Pump combines high-performance pumped sampling with flexible multi-gas detection in a compact, personal wearable format. Its integrated pump actively draws samples from confined or remote locations so conditions in tanks, sewers, tunnels and vessels can be assessed from a safe position. With simultaneous detection of up to six gases and extensive sensor and gas combinations, one platform can cover oxygen deficiency, toxic exposure, flammable gas risks and volatile organic compounds, reducing the need for multiple detector types on site.

A mix of catalytic, NDIR infrared, electrochemical and PID sensors underpins this coverage. This allows the detector to monitor key life-critical gases such as oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide and flammable gases, with optional VOC detection and a wide range of additional toxic gas sensors. Sites can configure the instrument from a basic four-gas monitor through to advanced six-gas plus VOC variants, aligning each unit to the specific hazards of different areas while standardising on a single product family.

Engineered for confined spaces and harsh industrial environments

The Senko MGT Pump is designed specifically for confined space entry and monitoring, with a stable pump flow that supports long sampling distances. A choice of sampling hose and probe options, including Teflon-coated hose, provides chemical resistance and low contamination, helping maintain sample integrity where reactive or adherent gases may be present.

A rubberised, TPU-coated polycarbonate housing and IP67 ingress protection give dust-tight and waterproof performance, suitable for demanding conditions in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, refineries, power generation, wastewater treatment, sewage works and tank cleaning applications. Its explosion-proof, intrinsically safe design and broad global certifications support deployment in classified areas and across multiple regions, while the wide operating temperature and humidity range helps ensure consistent performance in varied climates.

Clear alarms and real-time situational awareness

A large graphic or segment LCD with backlight provides real-time concentration values for all active channels, supporting rapid decision-making even in low-light conditions. Alarm thresholds for key gases, including oxygen, toxic gases, flammables and VOCs, can be configured to site-specific safety policies, enabling alignment with local procedures and regulatory requirements.

When hazardous concentrations or instrument issues occur, a multi-alarm system uses bright LEDs, clear on-screen indications, a loud audible buzzer and vibration alerts to ensure warnings are noticed in noisy or high-distraction environments. In addition to gas level alarms, the detector monitors for sensor faults and pump blockages, and offers a filter contamination check, so potential sampling issues can be identified and addressed quickly before protection is compromised.

Efficient daily operation, maintenance and compliance

Ergonomic three-button operation and an integrated belt clip support simple use and hands-free carrying during work, allowing the Senko MGT Pump to act as a primary personal 4–6 gas monitor without adding excessive bulk. Despite its integrated pump and multi-gas capability, the instrument remains lightweight and compact, which helps improve wearer acceptance over long shifts.

A high-capacity rechargeable Li-ion battery provides extended operating time, with typical runtimes ranging from around 30 hours to several days per charge depending on the series, reducing charging frequency and downtime. Serviceable construction with replaceable sensors and accessories supports long instrument life and helps lower total cost of ownership, particularly for larger fleets where consistent hardware and spares deliver additional savings.

For compliance, audits and incident investigation, the Senko MGT Pump includes event logging for alarms, bump tests and calibrations, together with integrated datalogging accessible via an infrared/IrDA interface. An optional docking and calibration station automates bump tests and full calibrations, standardising maintenance routines, supporting record-keeping requirements and reducing manual test time.

Flexible flammable and toxic gas strategies across the site

The platform supports both pellistor and infrared options for flammable gas detection, enabling selection of the most appropriate sensing technology for specific processes and background conditions. In addition, a broad choice of toxic gas sensors and optional VOC capability allows coverage of diverse industrial risks, from routine hot work and industrial hygiene surveys to emergency response and investigation tasks.

Backed by SENKO’s gas detection expertise, a two-year instrument warranty and extended life on key sensors such as CO, H2S and O2 on selected models, the Senko MGT Pump provides a robust, scalable solution for preventing gas-related incidents. Its combination of pumped sampling, wide gas compatibility, strong safety credentials and practical field usability enables organisations to standardise on a single multi-gas platform across multiple plants and regions.
