Gas Data GM25-2 is a configurable, portable multi-gas analyser for Zone 1 sites, combining tailored channels with cloud-connected reporting.
Gas Data GM25-2 is a fully configurable portable multi-gas analyser for fast, on-site assessment of safety, environmental and process conditions. Built to order with infra-red and electrochemical channels, it supports simultaneous monitoring of key gases in biogas, wastewater and odour control applications. Intrinsically safe approvals and rugged, weather-proof construction suit demanding Zone 1 locations, while USB data logging and DataField GM25 Connect integration streamline reporting and remote access for distributed teams.
For detailed technical data, consult the Specifications tab.
Gas Data GM25-2 is built to order so that each analyser matches the specific gas monitoring requirements of a site. A typical configuration provides up to six gas channels, combining configurable infra-red measurement for methane and carbon dioxide with up to four electrochemical cells for oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and hydrogen in any combination. Optional nitrogen balance and LEL expansion further extend capability, allowing one portable instrument to deliver both composition and flammability information. This flexibility enables a single platform to support safety checks, process optimisation and environmental compliance across multiple locations.
The Gas Data GM25-2 is well suited to biogas monitoring at anaerobic digestion plants and biogas engines, where accurate methane, carbon dioxide and oxygen measurement supports process control and engine protection. Multiple hydrogen sulphide ranges address aggressive biogas and wastewater environments, while carbon monoxide and hydrogen channels assist with broader safety and process diagnostics. The analyser is also effective in wastewater and sewage treatment facilities, as well as odour and environmental monitoring applications, providing data that help operators demonstrate performance against regulatory and internal standards.
For field work across industrial and municipal sites, the Gas Data GM25-2 combines a compact, hand-held form factor of around 1 kg with robust construction and IP65 ingress protection. A weather-proof black ABS housing and optional neoprene or leather protective cases provide impact and environmental resistance during daily use. An internal pump with controlled flow and typical low input pressure requirements supports reliable sampling, delivering multi-gas results within minutes at the point of measurement. An operating temperature range suitable for approximately -10 °C to 40 °C allows year-round outdoor deployment, reducing the need for multiple instruments across seasons.
Gas Data GM25-2 is designed for use in hazardous Zone 1 environments where flammable gases or vapours may be present. ATEX, IECEx and UKEx approvals, together with an intrinsically safe explosion rating, support safe use in classified areas and help minimise ignition risk during routine monitoring. Optional LEL measurement and associated calculations provide additional insight into flammability margins, supporting risk assessment during maintenance, inspection and fault-finding tasks in process areas.
The analyser is engineered for long, uninterrupted shifts. A user-swappable battery pack typically delivers around 8–12 hours of operation with a recharge time of about 4 hours, helping to minimise downtime between jobs. Chargers are supplied to suit the country of use, simplifying fleet deployment across multiple regions. A high-contrast LCD display maintains readability in low-light, indoor or bright outdoor conditions. Optional measurement inputs, including atmospheric, static and differential pressure, vane anemometer for gas velocity, and a brass probe for gas temperature, allow additional process parameters to be captured alongside gas data.
Gas Data GM25-2 integrates easily into digital reporting workflows. Simple data reporting and logging are available via Instrument Connect or the DataField GM25 Connect software, while onboard USB logging supports convenient transfer of stored measurements for analysis and archiving. The DataField GM25 Connect app enables remote control of the analyser from a mobile device or tablet and allows configuration of how readings are taken to align with site procedures. When online, the app can live-stream measurements to a web-based portal, providing real-time visibility for central teams overseeing multiple sites or contractors.
With flexible channel configuration, rugged design and accessories such as sample pipe, spares kit, tools and protective cases, the Gas Data GM25-2 supports both rapid spot checks and long-term monitoring programmes. It can be used as a standalone field analyser or integrated with cloud or PC-based systems as part of a routine compliance strategy. An annual service and calibration cycle is recommended to maintain performance, with a 12‑month service interval indicated on the instrument home screen and calibration certificate. Typical service packages include recalibration, part replacement and general maintenance, with turnaround times structured to limit disruption. Rental and hire options, together with technical support, training and demonstrations from specialist distributors, help operators maintain continuous gas monitoring capability throughout the life of the project.
