Ethylene Dichloride (C2H4Cl2) Detectors
We supply fixed ethylene dichloride gas detectors engineered for reliable, continuous monitoring in petrochemical and chemical production facilities. These detectors use electrochemical or infrared (IR) sensors for accurate detection of vapour concentrations, offering rapid response times and stable performance across workplace exposure ranges. Routine calibration supports long-term accuracy and compliance with safety requirements.
Our range includes Crowcon fixed systems, designed for seamless integration into industrial safety networks and proven reliability in demanding applications.
Ensure worker protection and reduce fire risks with our fixed ethylene dichloride detection systems, suited to petrochemical and chemical industries.
Ethylene dichloride (C₂H₄Cl₂), also known as 1,2-dichloroethane, is primarily used as a precursor in the production of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) for PVC plastics. It is also applied as a solvent and in fuel additives. Despite its industrial importance, ethylene dichloride is both toxic and flammable. Short-term exposure can cause irritation to the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract, while prolonged exposure has been linked to liver, kidney, and nervous system effects. Because vapours are heavier than air and accumulate in low areas, continuous monitoring is essential wherever it is stored or processed.
