Additional indicators for time-weighted average and short-term exposure help convey cumulative risk without workers needing to interpret figures. Honeywell BW Icon monitors typical four-gas hazards with options for additional toxic gases in certain configurations. Combustible gases are monitored via a low-power infrared methane sensor that is immune to silicone poisoning, reducing a common cause of flammable-gas sensor failure. Honeywell 1 Series and i‑Series sensors deliver fast response and wide environmental tolerance, enabling reliable detection in demanding conditions. Fast reaction to rising gas levels, combined with clear icon-based warnings, supports timely evacuation and intervention.

The detector combines a small footprint with rugged housing and high ingress protection, making it suitable for energy, oil and gas, utilities and confined space work. Resistance to dust and water, together with a wide operating temperature and humidity range, enables dependable performance in extreme hot, cold or humid conditions. With an NDIR combustible sensor, Honeywell BW Icon can deliver multi-week to multi-month runtime from a 4.5-hour charge, depending on usage and power-down settings between shifts. USB charging and multi-way cradle or bench chargers support anything from individual units to larger fleets. An Always ON option, together with configurable alarm set points, latching behaviour and bump/calibration reminders, helps ensure detectors are available and correctly configured when required.

To help ensure gas hazards are not missed, Honeywell BW Icon employs a triple alarm system: bright visual indicators, a loud 95 dB audible alarm and a strong vibrating alarm for noisy locations. The detector supports low, high, time-weighted, short-term, negative-drift, over-limit and multi-gas alarm conditions. Under the surface, automatic self-diagnostics check sensors and circuitry on activation, then continue with regular analogue and high-frequency digital diagnostics. Negative-drift and over-limit logic help flag sensor anomalies and extreme events, supporting safer decision-making and timely maintenance actions.

The IntelliFlash green/amber LED allows supervisors to check compliance from a distance, indicating whether a detector is operating normally or needs attention.
