Description
Honeywell Unipoint is a DIN rail gas detection controller for flammable, toxic and oxygen hazards in hazardous-area panel systems.
Honeywell Unipoint is a compact, DIN rail mounted gas detection controller for integrating fixed gas monitoring into control panels and distributed systems. Each module provides a single channel of flammable, toxic or oxygen gas measurement, with versions for mV bridge and 2/3‑wire 4–20 mA detectors. Clip-together modules, shared power interconnects and plug-in terminals streamline installation, while a backlit display, built-in audiovisual alarms and programmable relays support clear, staged warning strategies in industrial, commercial and energy-sector applications.
AT A GLANCE
- Flexible single-channel platform: mV bridge and 2/3‑wire 4–20 mA versions cover flammable, toxic and oxygen detectors from Honeywell and third parties.
- Easy panel integration: TS35 DIN rail mounting, clip-together modules and shared power interconnects simplify wiring in new or existing control systems.
- Clear local status and alarms: Backlit LCD, tri-colour indicators, sounder and programmable relays support staged alarm strategies and fault signalling.
- Designed for hazardous applications: Suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres when correctly installed and backed by recognised approvals.

Overview of Honeywell Unipoint
Flexible Building Block for Panel-Integrated Gas Detection
Honeywell Unipoint is engineered as a practical, DIN rail mounted controller for fixed gas detection in industrial, commercial and energy-sector environments. Each module provides a single gas detector input, allowing system designers to add protection point by point. Modules clip together on standard TS35 “top hat” DIN rail to create scalable small to medium multi-point systems without redesigning existing panel layouts.
The controller is designed for installation in plastic or metal enclosures for both indoor and outdoor use, including potentially explosive atmospheres when correctly specified and installed. Typical applications include boiler houses, HVAC systems, car parks, laboratories, analyser houses, custom control panels, unmanned equipment rooms, crane cabs and offshore facilities.
Wide Detector Compatibility and Configurable Measurement
Two Unipoint variants support common fixed gas detector technologies. The mV bridge version interfaces with catalytic bead flammable gas detectors, while the 2/3‑wire 4–20 mA version is suited to toxic and oxygen detectors. Together, they accommodate a wide range of Honeywell Analytics and third‑party detectors, subject to power requirements, enabling standardisation on a single controller platform across multiple gas hazards.
Industry-standard 4–20 mA and mV bridge signal handling simplifies integration into new projects and retrofits. Fully user-programmable scaling, engineering units and calibration settings allow each channel to be configured for different gases and ranges without hardware changes. This supports flexible system design while keeping configuration within a consistent menu structure.
Clear Indication, Intelligent Alarms and Remote Control
The ultra-clear backlit LCD presents digital gas readings, units of measure and system or event status codes for quick interpretation, even in low-light cabinets. Red (alarm), amber (fault) and green (power) indicators provide immediate visual feedback, backed by an integrated audible alarm that offers local warning where personnel are present.
Each Unipoint includes three fully programmable alarm relays plus a dedicated system fault relay. Relays can be configured as energised or de‑energised, latching or non‑latching, with rising or falling trip selection and adjustable on/off delays. Multiple programmable thresholds support staged alarm strategies, from early warnings through to process shutdown or ventilation control signals. The dedicated fault relay monitors internal errors and power loss to give failsafe feedback to higher-level PLC, BMS or DCS systems.
Remote inputs for accept, reset and inhibit allow alarms to be controlled without opening the enclosure, supporting safer operation and easier access in panel-mounted applications. On 4–20 mA versions, a field or remote inhibit input can temporarily suppress alarms during maintenance or testing to reduce nuisance trips while maintaining clear operational control.
Fast Installation, Serviceability and System Expansion
Unipoint is designed to minimise installation time and simplify ongoing maintenance. The supplied DIN rail socket interconnects power between adjacent units, reducing the number of separate power terminations and helping keep cabinets tidy. Plug-in screw terminals and removable terminal connectors provide easy access for wiring and allow individual modules to be replaced rapidly without disturbing connections to other devices, supporting high uptime.
Simple four-button navigation and an intuitive menu structure support configuration and routine use. Configuration menus can be password protected to help prevent unauthorised changes and maintain system integrity. Low DC power consumption supports efficient panel design, and an optional DIN-rail power supply is available to power Unipoint modules and connected detectors from a wide AC input range.
Additional accessories and spares, such as terminal blocks, DIN rail sockets and power connectors, support straightforward system expansion and lifecycle maintenance. Clear event and status information on the display assists technicians with fault finding, helping shorten service visits and reduce overall maintenance overhead.
Performance, Compliance and System Integration
Unipoint is intended for fixed gas detection in environments where reliable performance and regulatory compliance are critical. It is supported by key EMC/RFI and electrical safety standards, recognised approvals and ATEX performance approval for the gas measuring function, with full details available in the dedicated Approvals and Documentation tabs. Indoor ingress protection, when combined with appropriate enclosures, and typical environmental ratings support use in plant rooms, equipment rooms and demanding industrial locations.
As either a simple standalone controller or an element within larger PLC, BMS, DCS or custom control cabinets, Honeywell Unipoint offers a cost-effective path to integrating gas detection into wider safety and control architectures. Consistent part numbering, compact dimensions and panel-friendly design make specification and repeat deployment straightforward across multiple projects and sites.
