Crowcon Tetra 3

The Crowcon Tetra 3 is designed as a personal multi-gas detector for continuous individual protection wherever oxygen, toxic and flammable gas risks are present. Standard configurations cover the four most common industrial hazards, including oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and flammable gases, supporting routine tasks and confined space entry. When alarm thresholds are exceeded, the detector activates a triple alarm system: a high-output audible alarm, bright dual red/blue LEDs and a built-in vibrating alarm. Combined with multiple alarm types, including two instantaneous levels and both 8-hour and 15-minute TWA alarms for toxic gases, this helps ensure hazardous conditions are recognised quickly, even in noisy or low-visibility environments.

The Crowcon Tetra 3 withstands the physical and environmental demands of sectors such as water and wastewater, telecoms, food and brewing, hydrocarbons and general confined space work. An impact-resistant housing with overmoulded rubber improves resistance to shock and vibration, while high ingress protection ratings (dust- and waterproof to IP65 and IP67) allow operation in wet areas and during washdown. The instrument can be briefly or fully submerged in water without damage, and its wide operating temperature range and broad humidity tolerance support reliable performance in extreme climates and high-moisture conditions.

The detector is certified intrinsically safe for use in hazardous areas and carries approvals under key schemes including ATEX, IECEx and CSA. The Crowcon Tetra 3 supports a structured approach to gas safety compliance. A 30-day countdown and clear calibration-due warnings prompt timely servicing, helping maintain measurement accuracy. The detector works with Crowcon software, Checkbox/IMH equipment and dedicated T3 Gas Tester accessories for regular calibration and bump testing, making it easy to integrate into existing test stations and service regimes. Integrated data logging records time-stamped readings, thresholds and events, while event logs capture alarms, over-range incidents, calibrations, bump tests, on/off cycles and TWA breaches.
