Ethylene Oxide (EtO) Detectors

We supply fixed and portable ethylene oxide gas detectors designed for both facility-wide monitoring and personal protection. Fixed detectors provide continuous coverage in sterilisation facilities, laboratories, and chemical plants, while portable models give workers mobility and safety assurance in variable environments.

Our EtO detector range includes solutions from Crowcon, Honeywell, RAE Systems, and Uniphos, all trusted globally for their precision, durability, and industrial reliability. Portable detectors may also be available for hire.

Protect your staff and maintain compliance in healthcare, sterilisation, and chemical industries with our fixed and portable ethylene oxide detection systems.

Detection is typically achieved using electrochemical sensors with high sensitivity to low parts-per-million levels. These sensors deliver fast response times and stable readings, with routine calibration ensuring long-term reliability and compliance with occupational exposure limits.

Ethylene oxide (EtO) is a colourless, highly reactive gas used in sterilisation, medical equipment processing, and chemical manufacturing. While essential in these applications, EtO is both flammable and toxic, with recognised carcinogenic properties. Short-term exposure can cause respiratory irritation, nausea, and headaches, while long-term exposure increases the risk of neurological effects and cancer. Because it is colourless and often odourless at hazardous concentrations, reliable detection is critical wherever EtO is handled.
